Loving the flow and intricacy in Fanella Elms’s work. For a thorough look at her creative process, check this out in her own words. From a pattern perspective, I am fascinated by how rhythm and flow is achieved through the placement of the chips in works like the above. It evokes feathers or flowers but remains abstract. For the works below, she uses a different process, and the flow is achieved with cloth-like strands of porcelain that look delicate and fragile, but are so strong, they’ve withstood 1280 c of heat and are standing upright.
