Just when you’ve decided cake is only for eating…an artist comes along to help you change your mind. Cake is Scott Hove’s medium, and boy does he use it well. Case and point, his latest creation – a 9,000 square foot of floor-to-ceiling cake sculpture. Playing with the combination of the beauty and darkness inherent in life, Hove likes to combine features such as wolves teeth and sabers into his otherwise highly decorative (dare we say fru-fru) cake sculptures. The result is provocative and amazing. Hove’s latest exhibition hosted by Think Tank Gallery consists of a dazzling maze of cake – it’s certainly enough to get you thinking (and maybe salivating).
