Rag Rug | Urban Outfitters US

With a long history dating back in the US to the American colonies, the rag rug has held a special place in the home for many centuries. Similar to the quilt, the rag rug is composed of scraps of fabric originally made from wool, occasionally silk and later cotton. I’ve always been fascinated by the textural quality of this type of rug and the somewhat ease with which one could create their own. A predecessor to the shag rug commonly found in the 1970s, the rag rug makes a comeback with interpretations from Liberty and Urban Outfitters in a range of colors, patterns and weaves.
