Les Nabis Revisited

Known for their use of light and color, Les Nabis established themselves as an avant-garde collective of painters in the late 1800s consisting primarily of Maurice Denis, Pierre Bonnard, and Edouard Vuillard. Much of their subject matter involved interiors and garden settings featuring family members and friends. Taking inspiration from this group, photographer, Erik Madigan Heck, illuminates Mary Katrantzou’s Autumn 11 collection in a series of stills. The intense colors and patterns play up Katrantzou’s already vibrant palette creating a brilliant homage to the past and present.
