Print Revelation

prints by Lizzie Derriey Studio

Although print studios create many of the iconic designs that leave an everlasting mark on the consumer’s consciousness, they rarely receive recognition for their work. So, it’s nice to see Liberty giving credit in a recent exhibit highlighting the myriad of designs from Parisian studio, Lizzie Derriey. Operating between 1928 and 1994, this print house worked with many of the grand couturiers of the day including Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Patou and Givenchy. Little is known of the studio and of Lizzie herself, but the prints created are being given a second chance after their discovery in the South of France. Spanning decades and styles, the exhibit allows you to take home a piece of surface design history as each print is available to purchase.
