Last weekend I traveled out into Eastern Oregon to the John Day Fossil Beds and Painted Hills. I was blown away by the bold colors and the natural beauty of high desert. Apparently, the tones and hues of the claystones may appear to change from one visit to another depending on light and air moisture. The shapes and colors of the hills are sublime. What a hidden gem!
