Viktor & Rolf brought 17th century Dutch paintings to life by literally dressing their models in the artwork. After each model walked the runway, they were “undressed” by V and R and their wearable art piece was hung on the wall. Victor & Rolf have decided to take a turn towards a more expressively artistic runway going forward, using this collection as a jumping off point. I found a few Dutch paintings that were featured in the show, including the below still life on the final look.
