The print specialists of fashion seem to be obsessed with making their dresses look like giant fantastical jewels. We at Pattern People have been fascinated with faceting and crystallization for quite some time now as well. Above are some of the most beautiful examples. Basso and Brooke’s new collection is inspired by Louis XIV, and features some of the most shimmering, radiant pieces of the Fall 09 runway shows. Mary Katrantzou is a new-comer from Greece, and her giant perfume bottles are both gorgeous and futuristic. Alexander McQueen started this trend with his Spring 09 collection, sending up digitally-printed paper dresses.
