Nick Cave, not to be confused with the musician, is a Chicago-based artist working in the medium of wearable mixed-media. His Soundsuits incorporate every material imaginable to make unique noises specific to each sculpture. Reminiscent of ceremonial ensembles, Cave’s creations aren’t too far off from recent runway haute couture. His hairy suits are strangely similar to Chanel’s winter collection which featured head-to-toe fur, as well as the kaleidoscopic furs seen on the models of Louise Gray and Nathan Jenden. The Soundsuits were recently exhibited at the Fowler Museum in Los Angeles and may be coming to a city near you.
