Patterns in Fashion Book
Inspiration
The new book Patterns in Fashion highlights some fun directions in pattern print design, as applied to garments. Each spreadsheet is a flat design on one page, with its garment application on the opposite page. Published in Spain, Macarena San Martin, the book’s editor and writer, has a youthful and playful aesthetic, but still manages to squeeze in some sophisticated women’s wear selections. The book has a decidedly non-American flavor, with most designers based in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, etc. New York designers are also represented, mostly in a snowboarding apparel capacity. Many designers are used more than once in the book, while other obvious choices are left out. But overall, very fun eye candy, and lots of links provided. Also, curiously, a CD with the prints from the book in jpeg format, as if ready for bloggers…what will they think of next?
Congratulations to the author!!!! Nice book…
We want to see Patterns 2…
Interesting examples.
