Based in Brighton, Cardigan is the vision of Kate Jenkins, a former fashion designer who has designed for Donna Karan and Sonia Rykiel. In 2003, she turned her attention to skillfully crocheting everyday objects with a wit, humor and skill that is quite impressive. Her collections include “Fishes and Stitches,” “Soft Smokes” and “Comfort Food.” She also crochets functional pieces like cardigans and wraps. It’s hard to imagine how long all these pieces take to execute; obsessiveness is amazing.
