Art | The Omega Workshops
InspirationThe Omega Workshops, established in 1913 by members of the Bloomsbury group, consisted primarily of Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell (sister of Virginia Woolf). Their whimsical style and casual brushstrokes were applied to every surface such as folding screens, wallpaper, fabrics and ceramics. Spending much of their time at Charleston, a bohemian farmhouse in Sussex, Grant and Bell played host to the Bloomsbury artists, writers and other intellectuals of the time. In collaboration with the Cortauld Institute, Christopher Farr has translated some of the Omega Workshops’ artwork into rugs. If you’re in London, you can view the collection through June 24th here.
