Books | The beauty of Fitzgerald
InspirationThe tangible beauty of a well designed book is quickly fading into the past as the ipad and kindle continue to be touted as the next wave in publishing. However, thanks to Penguin Books, a series of classics are regaining stature due to their stunning cover designs. Designer, Coralie Bickford-Smith, brings us another beautiful collection of pattern based cover art; this time for F. Scott Fitzgerald. Bold, geometric, Art Deco influenced designs printed in foil give this collection of work a fresh update. As much as I love the original art for, The Great Gatsby, the simple line work of Bickford-Smith’s broken pattern is equally mesmerizing. Who ever said not to judge a book by its cover needs to take a look at these beauties. This new collection will definitely make a statement on the shelf much more so than an ipad or kindle.
These are soo awesome! It is like my love of books and pattern have been married, passionate and fabulous!!
Yes….it makes you full of lust – not just for reading!
