Made using a robot and disused refrigerator parts, the endless collection by Dirk Vander Kooij takes upcycling to a whole new level! Produced using a 3D printing technique, the robot seamlessly motions back and forth, up and around, creating the chairs from the ground up, just like icing a cake.
The idea came about as a graduation project in 2010 and has snowballed into a signature collection that can be expanded into any kind of furniture or 3D object with just a few presses of a button. You can see exactly how it’s done in this amazing video Creating an Endless Chair.
