Inspiration
The recent rediscovery of the beautiful crystals mines in Naica, Mexico have inspired an affinity with minerals and nature. The look is rich in colour and dynamic in texture with an unpredictable mix of shape and density. Without having to grow the real thing, you can create this look indoors quite easily. Andere Monjo’s occasional tables looked aged and ‘found’ with the effect from years of acid rain whilst Richard Weston’s amazing agate and mineral photographic scarves can be used as large and detailed wall hangings.
For a small nod to the trend, pick up some photographs showing the inner workings of minerals and crystals with their refracted light in an abundance of colours and depths.
I want those tables!
