Interiors | Marthe Armitage

The first time I saw the work of Marthe Armitage I was smitten. Hand printed using lino blocks, Armitage has been creating wallpaper designs for over 50 years from her studio in Chiswick, a suburb of West London. Her work is an attempt to bring the over flowing bounty of the garden inside. Stepping into a room with her prints is similar to walking into an overgrown wonderland. Her delicate illustrations and soothing color palettes have a calming effect much like their botanical counterparts. What do you think? Would you decorate a room with one of her designs?
