For his Resort 12 line, Oscar de la Renta reaches back to Picasso as print inspiration, and the results are stunning.  The surface designs have a unique and modern take on cubism, without overt appropriation, and there are tons of different executions of the idea, from wovens to appliqués, to embroideries.  It’s clear that the designers of this print story delved far and deep into their subject matter without straying too far from the concept.
