Light Garden Installation, 2009:  “Light Garden is an installation of two suspended disks composed of naturally dyed cotton and hand-made patchwork. These mandalas can be seen as portraits of light. While reflecting the eternal outward rippling of its waves,it is through their inward resonances that the universe is cast within us.”

Cosmic Wonder is a conceptual project initiated in 1997 by artist Yukinori Maed.  The Cosmic Wonder Centers, located in Tokyo and Osaka, were designed to integrate three branches of Maed’s artistic expression:  conceptual projects, fashion design, and books and music. “Besides functioning as a gallery space for art and concerts, it is a shelter from the daily march of time,
where visitors can share the experience of drifting along with the flow of sounds in the universe. publishing” writes the artist.  I love the soft colors, and the beautiful composition of the mandalas.  The fashion collections are not exactly my cup of tea, but there is some interesting pattern mixing going on, and I do love the recurring dot motif.  Check it out here.
