Profile | Agata Wierzbicka
InspirationIt’s hard to believe the work of Warsaw based illustrator, Agata Wierzbicka, is drawn primarily on the computer. Although she does use acrylic paint, oil pastels, and pencils, it’s the digital method Wierzbicka prefers. Originally trained as a furniture designer and architect, Wierzbicka has focused her career on illustration capturing fashion and nature in her own unique way. Clients have included Area Environment who commissioned her to create this tropical wallpaper below. We especially like her street fashion illustrations which mix just the right amount of pattern into the designs. See more of her work here and here.
After studying Wierzbirka as one of my chosen GCSE artist i find her work very interesting, she uses her architectural knowledge of relationship between people as space actors and their special identity therefore being different from many other artist. Her art portrays people and how they fit into everyday life bringing society and culture into art, consequencingly making it hard to put her work in a specific category. Please feel free to get back to me with other artist in the same style as her and Esra Rosie.
