Artist Alice Lancaster knows a thing or two about social media. Her Fauvist style paintings and selfies featured on her instagram feed caught the eye of Calvin Klein creative director, Francisco Costa, landing her a collaboration on the Resort 16 collection. Her simple line work of abstract feminine forms harkens back to the works of Henri Matisse and Andre Derain who captured shapes in colorful palettes. Lancaster’s modern interpretation of the breast, embodied in a repeat pattern for Calvin Klein’s Resort Collection, creates a sea of graphic lines which pairs well with Costa’s urban and bold looks.
