Profile | Garance Vallée
InspirationSpace and time appears to stand still in the multi-tiered architectural drawings by Parisian illustrator, Garance Vallée. Citing Bauhaus and the Memphis Group as references, Vallée composes illustrations that feel set-like in nature – miniature doll houses for the modern architectural voyeur. It comes as no surprise then to hear this talented designer is pursuing a masters degree in architecture with an emphasis on scenography.
Vallée’s recent series, in collaboration with say hi to_, deconstructs and translates the work of iconic Swiss architect, Le Corbusier. She stages it within the imagined ruins of ‘Villa Savoye,’ Le Corbusier’s famous modernist house built in the outskirts of Paris, memorializing the objects and forms in an alternate universe.
