Zandra Rhodes for Valentino Spring 2017

We’ve always been huge fans of fashion and textile designer, Zandra Rhodes. So, it’s no surprise that we love the Spring 2017 collection from Valentino which features Zandra’s hand drawn prints. Inspired by the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch, as well as archive designs by this iconic designer, the patterns depict fantastical vegetation with flying birds and other jungle creatures.

Zandra’s whimsical hand drawn style comes to life on floating fabrics, in shades primarily of pink, red and mustard, with embroidery, embellishment, and various printing techniques. The meticulously drawn patterns harken back to the designer’s prints from the 1960s which include her signature squiggle as seen below on the left. We’ll be looking forward to spring with the hopes of snagging one of these beauties.
